Summary: Introductory part of (his thesis. This chapter is an expression of the basic idea for this research work. It develops on the rationale of the researcher behind this research work. The Law of the and definitely provides a legal system to the nation. There are ON governmental policies also, which are formulated for the same. But the problem arises when there is infringement of human Rights despite having a sound statutory framework. it becomes a matter of concern, when the reality projects altogether a different picture than what we aim to have. The actual position of women in a developing country like India needs a close examination. This will yield the result of finding ways and means to diminish the existing gender disparity. The important legal provisions and the judicial pronouncements which can be treated as one, identifying the rights of women as Rights of human beings have been mentioned. Thus this chapter is broadly developed under following sub headings. Chapter II deals with "The Concept of Human Rights" which include Jurisprudential aspect, meaning, definition, sources of Human Rights. It also covers the origin and development of human rights in theoretical aspect. Chapter III is related with Historical study of emergence of Human Rights in the UN and in Ancient India. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a brief history of the Human Rights development over the early years and then ultimately leading up to more contemporary developments like birth of the United Nations and the enactment of Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The chapter is divided into two sections. The first section develops upon the role played by United Nations in giving sanction to certain rights as human Rights and also the universal declaration of Human Rights. The second section includes watt provisions which existed as values in ancient India. Chapter 1V "Indian Constitution and Human Rights Protection" is a tershade in the progress of this thesis because this chapter is base of alysis the work toward the human rights protection, promotion and lation. This chapter includes the rights which are recogninsed by an constitution in the shape of fundamental rights as well as the dicial attempts for their protection. Chapter V "Human Rights Education in India" is an attempt to derstand the importance of Human Rights Education. We are living the age of Rights and Information technology and we have become citizens of the global village. In the quest of self development and enhancement, we tend to deprive others of their Rights. With education, some have been able to leap forward and achieve what they wanted but at the same time there are number of them who have not had the privilege of attending school. While on one side, we have Constitutional provisions guarantying the Right to Education, we have the problem of illiteracy still raging on our faces. Education should not be reduced to a communication of information. It should have the potential of influencing the ideas and morals of an individual. Education must not he only to equip the individual with a degree to seek employment. The researcher strongly believes that education should in the first place nurture and groom the moral upbringing of an individual. This chapter includes following topics. • Historical basis of Human Rights Education. • Meaning and importance of Education. • Recognition of Human Rights Education by judiciary. World Summits on Htmian Rights Education. Chapter VI "1 Inman Rights and Women" is the heart of this thesis. entire work is aimed at identifying the Human Rights of Women. In this chapter the researcher will analised Universal Efforts, regional human rights convention as well as national efforts for human rights 4 development. In Chapter VII, the researcher will deal with Conclusive remarks and will give some important Suggestions for the betterment of the women human rights.
