Tourism is the fastest growing industry of the world and has tremendous Potentialities for earning foreign exchange providing employment, yielding tax revenue and promoting the growth of ancillary industries in the country. In the modern period of globalisation, mass population of the world travel for pleasure, business, trade, employment, entertainment, sports & adventure, health, education & research, physical rest and recreation at bench. At present India ranks 42nd in the world tourist arrivals and 17th in world tourism receipts. The money spent by the tourist has multiplier effect as it passes through various section of the economy. A majority of the states in India have placed tourism on a priority platform making efforts to exploit the tourism resources and potential offered by the states. |
