The term identity politics refers to political positions based on the interests and perspectives of social groups with which people identidy. Identity policy includes the ways in which the people's politics are shaped by aspects of their identity through loosely corelatd social organization. It is a term widely in Europe and was first used in France. It is used across disciplines including education sociology, psychology, politics and economics.
