Indian Journal of Information, Library & Society was started its publication in 1988 in Cuttack, Odisha. Dr. B.B.Shukla, Reader, Department of Library & Information Science, Sailabala Women’s College, Cuttack pioneered in publication and editing of the journal. He has done it singly handedly with a group of eminent library and information scientists as the members of the editorial board. By his sincere effort, he could be able to continuously complete 32 years of publication without any break. However, the publication of the journal has been transferred to Surabhi Publications, Bhubaneswar, and Dr. R.K. Mahapatra, retired Chief Librarian, Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar has taken over as the Editor of the journal from vol 32, 2020. The journal is a peer-reviewed, double-blind, quarterly journal that publishes original research papers on the latest developments and review papers related to library science and ICT applied to library activities, services, and products, scientometrics/bibliometrics. Major subject fields covered include: information systems, knowledge management, ICT application in library and information centers, information behavior & retrieval, librarianship/library management, library & information system & services, records management, preservation & conservation, library and its impact on society, etc. The journal is meant for librarians, documentation and information professionals, teachers in LIS, researchers, students, and others interested in Libraries and information science. The authors interested in the above field may contribute papers for publication in the journal.
