This study focuses on the post-harvest management of onion crops in Karnataka, India. Despite the state's potential for onion production, inefficient post-harvest handling, packaging, storage, transportation, and processing lead to significant losses in both quantity and quality. The study aims to address this issue by examining the trends in area and production of onion, assessing the status of post-harvest infrastructure, studying global demand and competitiveness, estimating post-harvest losses and their causes, evaluating the cost-effectiveness of traditional and modern methods, and providing recommendations for improvement.
