Summary: Food is an essential item for the survival of human beings and has therefore always received the top most attention of mankind in the past. It is going to be so in future too. No Government can claim itself as a Welfare Government unless it provides access to food, clothing and shelter to all its citizens, in general and to the vulnerable sections of the society, in particular. Further, the Government is also supposed to provide essential services like safe-drinking water, education and health. No doubt, among all these items, the provision of food is bound to be on the top of the agenda. Emergence of Telangana on June 2, 2014 as 29th State of Indian Union has paved the way for the realization of 'Bangaru Telangana', a long-cherished dream of the people of Telangana. However, many challenges have to be encountered on the path to the attainment of the Goal. One of them is provision of a sustainable food security to one and all. In other words provision of food security to all the people is a step towards attainment of 'Bangaru Telangana'.
