Summary: Investigating into the efficacy of e-PDS, it is evident that the state in its effort to make end-to-end computerization of PDS, achieved 100 per cent automation with full completion of digitization of ration cards and FPSs with operational e-PoS. State's success in the achievement of 100 per cent Aadhaar seeing of ration cards is a significant step towards arresting leakages in the system. Moving in this direction, all priority groups and eligible BPL HHs constituting about 80 per cent of the population are being covered under NFSA. Automation brought greater transparency in the distribution channel enabling a free conduct of transaction till the end point. The state's earnest effort in bringing food grains to the doorsteps of the beneficiaries, took the birth of portability facility which turned out to be a boon to the beneficiaries. Overall, the efficacy and the resilience of the PDS in the State as a provider of food security is remarkable and especially in times of Pandemic COVID-19 of this magnitude, e-PDS resulted in successful implementation of the public service. A wider coverage of the program in future and in any unwarranted situation, calls for new innovation and technique in the system.
